Abstract
This programme brief presents the Markets for Inclusion (M4I): Catalysing inclusive growth and job creation for refugees and vulnerable groups, funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and implemented by the ILO. M4I applies the ILO's Approach to Inclusive Market Systems (AIMS) in Lebanon and Kenya to create inclusive economic growth and job creation for forcibly displaced persons and other vulnerable groups in Lebanon and Kenya, while strengthening the global knowledge base on how to apply these approaches in fragile and displacement-affected contexts. In Lebanon, the programme targets the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector, addressing systemic barriers that prevent the sector from reaching its employment potential. In Kenya, it focuses on the beauty and construction sectors, supporting job matching services to integrate refugees and vulnerable workers into higher-value urban markets. A global component generates and disseminates knowledge on market-based approaches to refugee economic inclusion, contributing to policy dialogue and practitioner capacity worldwide.
