This brief describes the institutional landscape of national social dialogue institutions (NSDIs) in 18 countries of Anglophone Africa, including their legal frameworks, structures, and mandates. It analyses their functionality and effectiveness in practice, highlighting both their contributions to labour relations and policy development and the challenges that limit their impact. It also identifies key trends and provides forward-looking considerations to strengthen social dialogue institutions and enhance their role in governance and socio-economic policymaking.
