employment unemployment regional level labour force participation labour policy institutional framework Poland
Examines why the Warmia and Masuria lake district in northern Poland has a relatively low share of the working population. Suggests that the main reasons for the labour market disequilibrium, indicated by high unemployment, may be sought in over-rigid labour market regulations.
