Abstract
The brief details a piloted solution that empowers local metal workshops and manufacturers to provide affordable, low-cost, double-span greenhouses, thereby stimulating a decentralized supply chain. This innovative approach not only significantly boosts farm yields and revenues by over 40% but also enhances working conditions for agricultural labourers, including Syrian refugees and women. By investing in local capacity and fostering an inclusive market, the project generates decent jobs in light manufacturing and strengthens the local economy, proving a sustainable pathway for farmers to access better technology and for Lebanon to bolster its food security.
