Abstract
This Issue Brief focuses on the implications that participation in GVCs holds for prospects of inclusive and sustainable development. It considers future trends, including technological change and shifting consumer demand as these affect the configuration of GVCs. It then examines the types of policies that are needed to ensure that participation in GVCs contributes to economic and social developmentf or workers, enterprises and economies.
