Abstract
Senegal's informal economy encompasses approximately 97% of all economic units and employs about 96.4% of the workforce. This widespread informality hinders access to social protection, credit, and formal business networks, posing challenges to economic productivity and tax revenue collection.Against this background, the ILO supports the government and various stakeholders in the public and private sector to create an enabling environment, and provide relevant support services to encourage and facilitate the formalization of enterprises and workers in the informal economy.
