Abstract
This factheet summarizes the findings of an assessment conducted by the ILO on the current and potential role of cooperatives in supporting their members to prevent and eliminate child labour and improve occupational safety and health (OSH) in Uganda’s coffee and tea supply chains, with a focus on women’s empowerment. It also provides recommendations for national and sectoral ILO constituents and other stakeholders on strengthening cooperatives to play a more active role in promoting decent work.
