This research study forms part of the activities under the Productivity Ecosystems for Decent Work Programme South Africa and aligns with the programme's objectives. It focuses on enhancing productivity and decent work within South Africa's leather and footwear sub-sectors by providing remedial actions to combat illicit and illegal trade of counterfeit leather and footwear that is negatively affecting the sub-sector’s competitiveness.
