Examines how the development of flexible work practices has affected employment and working conditions in the chemical industry. Describes trends in employment, remuneration, working time and paid leave during the 1980s and 1990s and investigates skills, training and knowledge management in the context of organizational needs. Looks at issues of shift work and shows how flexible work arrangements can affect industrial relations.
