Abstract
Explores the contribution cooperatives have made to 'growth with equity' in the past and identifies the role and potential of the different types of cooperative in meeting each of the eight Millennium Development Goals, highlighting their role in Poverty Reduction Strategies. Provides ten case studies of cooperatives in developing countries and provides guidance on how the cooperative option can best be promoted.
